Sajjad Nawaz

Bahawalpur, Pakistan

Sajjad Nawaz is a Pakistani visual artist originally from Bahawalpur, known for his expressive landscape and portrait paintings inspired by the natural and cultural environment of Southern Punjab. After moving to Lahore for higher studies, he completed an MA (Hons) in Fine Arts from the National College of Arts (NCA) and later received the prestigious Charles Wallace Fellowship for Islamic and Traditional Arts at The Prince’s School of Traditional Arts, London. His work often explores themes of nature, landscape, and the desert environment, particularly the Cholistan region. Through charcoal, graphite, and mixed-media techniques, he interprets elements such as sand, water, and clouds, transforming the landscapes of desert forts, dunes, and skies into poetic visual narratives. Sajjad Nawaz has exhibited his work in galleries and exhibitions in Pakistan, including shows that explore the changing forms of nature and the emotional connection between people and their environment. His artworks combine careful observation with a contemplative approach, capturing the quiet beauty and vastness of natural landscapes
